Conservation of a monumental painting by Pierre Rochard
Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church
Western Center of Conservation and Fine Arts (WCCFA) completed a restoration project on “Seven Founders of the Servite Order Receiving the Habit from the Queen of Heaven,” a painting by famed French artist Pierre Rochard that dates back to within years of the parish’s founding in 1904. Check out the video which shows Conservator of Paintings Camilla van Vooren and D. Hays Shoop on site conserving the painting.

This video, “The Greatest Wild West Poster Ever Told,” features visiting conservator, Carmen F. Bria Jr., chief conservator at the Western Center for the Conservation of the Fine Arts, as he demonstrates the steps involved in Museum Conservation for such a large paper poster which is already mounted on canvas.
